For more than 25 years, GEMAC CHEMNITZ GMBH has been deve­lo­ping and manu­fac­tu­ring modu­les, com­pon­ents and com­ple­te assem­blies accord­ing to indi­vi­du­al cus­to­mer requi­re­ments in the fiel­ds of sen­sor tech­no­lo­gy, mea­su­re­ment tech­no­lo­gy and medi­cal electronics.

GEMAC has estab­lis­hed its­elf as a spe­cia­list for incli­na­ti­on and acce­le­ra­ti­on sen­sors as well as for fiel­dbus dia­gnostics of CAN-based systems.

Present Projects

New generation of sensors: IMU+ Inertial Measurement Unit

The aim is to launch our new pro­duct fami­ly of high-pre­cisi­on dyna­mic tilt sen­sors for mobi­le machi­nes. This new type of iner­ti­al mea­su­ring unit is a com­bi­na­ti­on of an acce­le­ra­ti­on and gyro sen­sor, while simul­ta­ne­ous­ly using a new­ly deve­lo­ped com­plex sen­sor fusi­on eva­lua­ti­on algo­rithm. Com­pa­red to the pre­vious IMU sys­tems, the IMU+ pro­duct fami­ly has the decisi­ve advan­ta­ge that, in addi­ti­on to the raw data for acce­le­ra­ti­on and yaw rate (based on 6‑axis moti­on detec­tion), they can also out­put the intern­al­ly cal­cu­la­ted values such as incli­na­ti­on or ang­le of rota­ti­on in dif­fe­rent axes. In the future, the user will be able to iden­ti­fy devia­ti­ons in the defi­ned machi­ne sys­tem even more quick­ly and ana­ly­ze them more specifically.

The use of this solu­ti­on eli­mi­na­tes the need to inte­gra­te mul­ti­ple mea­su­re­ment sys­tems. This saves space in the various app­li­ca­ti­ons and con­si­der­ab­ly redu­ces the time for integration.

Novel CAN FD bus test system

The goal is to deve­lop a new type of test and dia­gnostic sys­tem for phy­si­cal and logi­cal signal eva­lua­ti­on for pro­cess con­trol and error ana­ly­sis in high-speed CAN FD bus sys­tems. In addi­ti­on to the eva­lua­ti­on of the pro­to­col data sup­plied by the bus, the phy­si­cal data of signal shape, height and tran­sit time should be exami­ned and used for the eva­lua­ti­on. The new CAN FD stan­dard requi­res lar­ger amounts of data to be trans­mit­ted at com­pa­ra­tively hig­her working fre­quen­ci­es. It is cur­r­ent­ly being estab­lis­hed in the indus­try and has beco­me necessa­ry to meet the incre­a­sed requi­re­ments for data trans­mis­si­on rates. The­re are still no inter­na­tio­nal tes­ting opti­ons for the new stan­dard that enab­le a simp­le com­pa­ri­son of the phy­si­cal signal quality.


In order to gua­ran­tee our cus­to­mers the hig­hest pos­si­ble qua­li­ty of our pro­ducts and ser­vices, our qua­li­ty manage­ment is regu­lar­ly review­ed and impro­ved. For many years we have been cer­ti­fied accord­ing to the indus­try stan­dard ISO 9001 and the medi­cal tech­no­lo­gy stan­dard ISO 13485.
