Acting responsibly. Safeguarding our future.
Our contribution to a sustainable future
Sustainability is a central component of our corporate philosophy. We view responsible conduct as the foundation for long-term economic success – in harmony with the environment, society, and our employees. This is what drives us to constantly conserve resources, reduce emissions, strengthen our social responsibility, and promote transparent, ethical business practices.
Member of the UN Global Compact
Being part of the UN Global Compact is integral to our sustainability strategy:
The Global Compact is the world’s largest initiative for sustainable and responsible business practices. By joining, companies commit to adhering to and actively promoting the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Since March 2025, GEMAC has also been a member of the UN Global Compact Network Germany. Joining this national platform enables us to engage with other businesses, academia, and civil society to develop joint solutions to global challenges and effectively support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participating in the UN Global Compact underscores our commitment to addressing sustainability with a structured, credible, and forward-looking approach.

Reusable and Resource-Efficient Packaging Solutions
GEMAC is firmly committed to reusable packaging solutions. This helps us conserve resources and reduce waste. Whenever possible, we use returnable packaging, sturdy cardboard boxes, and foldable plastic pallet boxes that can be reused multiple times. In addition, if used cardboard boxes, pallets, and packing materials are still in good condition, we reuse them.
Consistently avoiding synthetic materials, such as plastic laminates, is also a high priority for us. Our outer packaging is made entirely of recyclable cardboard. In this way, we reduce plastic waste and promote a sustainable material cycle.
Efficiency and Sustainability in Manufacturing
GEMAC’s products consist primarily of electronic assemblies. We manufacture them with minimal use of energy-intensive processes, such as machine soldering processes. For several years now, our soldering has been lead-free.
We minimize downtime and idle periods in our facilities through optimized process planning. Staggered machine startup times prevent power surges at the start of each shift, thereby reducing energy consumption in production. We use ESD-compliant small load carriers for all our internal transportation; we do not use disposable packaging. By grouping production orders, we optimize our production batch sizes and thus ensure effective machine utilization. Machines and systems for electronics manufacturing consist of complex precision mechanics assemblies. We ensure the long-term service life of our equipment through regular maintenance and service intervals and a coordinated maintenance plan.
GEMAC’s manufacturing operations are on the path toward paperless and digital production. In consultation with the management and through strategic investments in the necessary IT infrastructure, we are making this a top priority.
Sustainable Supply Chains
For us, sustainability doesn’t stop with our company – it applies throughout the entire supply chain. We place great importance on ensuring respect for human rights and compliance with environmental standards – both within our own organization and among our partners.
To this end, we regularly audit our suppliers and make sure our procurement processes are transparent, fair, and resource-efficient. We select partners who share our values, demonstrate social responsibility, and supply sustainable materials.
The measures we have implemented align with the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (LkSG). This act requires companies to systematically identify, prevent, and address risks to people and the environment within their supply chains. In this way, we ensure that our products and services are not only high-quality but also produced responsibly and sustainably.
Compliance and Sustainability
For us, sustainability also means consistently adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct sets out binding ethical, social, and environmental guidelines. It ensures fair working conditions, respect for human rights, and the responsible use of resources – both within our company and throughout our supply chains.
REACH Compliance
With our REACH Declaration of Conformity, we guarantee that our products do not contain any prohibited or harmful chemicals and comply with all currently applicable EU regulations. In this way, we protect the environment and our customers’ health.
RoHS Compliance
Our RoHS Declaration of Conformity confirms that our products do not exceed the allowed levels of hazardous substances such as lead, mercury, or cadmium, or that these substances have already been completely replaced. In this way, we promote recyclability and reduce our environmental impact.
B2B Take-Back Program for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
For us, sustainability also means managing the life cycle of our products responsibly. Our B2B take-back program allows business customers to return waste electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (WEEE).
GEMAC works exclusively with certified waste management companies in this area. Through this program, we actively contribute to resource conservation, waste prevention, and environmental responsibility. Our take-back system helps both us and our partners meet sustainability goals and take responsibility for the entire product life cycle.
